For families

Healing the family is part of the journey.

Your teen isn't the only one who's been carrying this.

What to Expect as a Parent

  • The first four weeks

During the Foundation Phase, the first four weeks, there are no in-person visits. This is not distance for its own sake. It gives your teen the space to settle into the routine without being pulled back into old patterns mid-adjustment. It is the hardest stretch for parents, and we walk you through it. And your teen is never cut off: they can raise a concern with any staff member or speak privately with the psychologist at any time.

  • Talking with your teen

Every other week during the Foundation Phase, you and your teen have a scheduled call. Predictable, structured, and something you can both count on. Contact is never withheld as punishment. After the Foundation Phase, contact opens up step by step.

  • Your weekly update

Every week, the team writes you an email update: routines, academics, attitude, progress. You are never left wondering.

  • Visits

After the Foundation Phase, visits open up. We are 90 minutes from San Diego, so visiting is genuinely practical.

  • Your contact

One named person at the program you can always reach with questions. You will be introduced to your family contact during enrollment.

Student Rights & Safety

What discipline never includes

No isolation. No physical punishment. No food restriction. And family contact is never taken away as a consequence. Discipline here means losing privileges like recreation choices, never losing safety, meals, or your family.

How a student raises a concern

Any student can speak privately with the psychologist at any time, no permission needed. Concerns can also be raised with any staff member or during scheduled family calls. A program that controls all communication should scare you. Ours is structured, not sealed.

Your rights as a parent

You may withdraw your teen from the program at any time. That is not fine print, it is your right, and we will say it out loud before you ever enroll.

Health comes first

An on-site nurse sees to daily health, a consulting doctor is available, and a professional nutritionist plans every meal. Physical wellbeing is checked every day, not assumed.
